Grazyna Sopala

Managing Partner

Grazyna Sopala, co-founder of Kaluzynski & Madeja, heads up the firm's activities. She conducts searches for clients across sectors including financial services, TMT, FMCG and Industrial.

Earlier in her career, Grazyna worked at Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Bank in London as a Relationship Manager for UK-based banks. Prior to this, Grażyna was with Citibank in Chicago covering US-based multinationals, and in Warsaw where she worked in Credit Risk, Treasury, Macroeconomic Research and in the Strategic Corporate Clients Department.

Grazyna holds a Master's degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Psychology from the University of Warsaw.

Richard Kaluzynski

Managing Partner

Richard Kaluzynski, co-founder of Kaluzynski & Madeja, is responsible for developing the firm's regional business. Richard has 20 years' Executive Search experience and started his career in the United Kingdom at Grand Metropolitan and British Oxygen. Richard was a member of the management buyout team which acquired an IT recruitment business from British Oxygen at the beginning of the 1980s, and was later a Board Member and co-owner.

In 1989, Richard, one of the first recruiters in Central and Eastern Europe, began executive search activity with assignments in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia. In 1995, he founded Russell Reynolds Associates in Poland, one of the first US search firms to establish a presence in the region. He built a high-level executive search business, recruiting chief executive officers and senior management for major multinationals, mainly in technology, consumer goods, financial services and in the industrial sector.

Richard studied Computer Science, e-Business and Entrepreneurship in London, Chicago and Fontainebleau.

Malgorzata Jancerowicz

Managing Director

Małgorzata Jancerowicz conducts assignments across all sectors, particularly in the Financial Services, FMCG, TMT and Industrial sectors. Małgorzata has experience in recruitment across all management functions with particular emphasis on HR, Finance, Sales and Marketing, PR, CRM, Quality Management, Legal & Compliance.

Małgorzata is a Hogan Assessment Systems certified consultant. She is in charge of “executive assessment” activities and she worked on assessment assignments for clients from industrial and energy sector.

Małgorzata joined the firm in 2005. Prior to joining Kałużyński & Madeja she worked and studied in the UK. Małgorzata holds a Master of Arts degree in English Philology from the University of Warsaw.

Monika Thieme

Managing Director

Monika Thieme joined Kaluzynski & Madeja in 2010. She serves multinational and local clients, specializing in senior-level assignments for a broad spectrum of organizations. Her particular areas of interest include the automotive, aerospace, construction and energy sectors. Dr. Thieme was with Heidrick & Struggles in Poland from 1997 to 2009 playing a significant role in the development of the firm and serving as the Managing Partner.

Born and educated in Poland, Dr. Thieme holds a PhD in computational linguistics. Besides her native Polish and fluency in English and French, Dr. Thieme also speaks Italian and Russian, and some Czech, Spanish and German.

Agata Fiedurek


Agata Fiedurek joined the firm in January 2016. She leads assignments across all sectors and management functions mainly for industrial and IT clients. Prior to this, Agata worked at Accetis Poland & CEER as a Senior Recruitment Consultant. She gained experience in executive recruitment in automotive, industrial as well as IT sectors. She was also engaged in assessment and development center projects. Her first professional experience was at Darwin Rhodes Group where she provided research support for assignments in the financial services sector. Agata holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Additionally she completed postgraduate studies in Transport Psychology at the Warsaw University. Agata is fluent in Polish and English.

Joanna Michalska


Joanna Michalska joined the firm in 2010. She conducts assignments across all sectors and management functions, mainly for the retail, production and building sectors as well as financial services clients. Joanna has experience in working on projects both in Poland and the CEE region. Prior to joining Odgers Berndtson Joanna worked with EU projects administration and support. Joanna holds a Master of Science degree in Production Management and Engineering from the University of Technology in Kielce and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Philology from Higher School of Arts and Sciences in Kielce. She is fluent in Polish and English.
